Less than a week after the U.S. Census Bureau released its 2023 American Community Survey (ACS) data, Social Explorer has posted comprehensive, customizable demographic, economic, housing, and social mapping and report capabilities for all U.S. geographies with more than 65,000 people.

ACS 2023: Analyze First “Post-COVID” Year of Life in the United States

The ACS 2023 release gives customers the ability to analyze the first true “post-COVID” year of life in the United States. Figures between 2020 and 2022 were particularly compromised by temporary dislocations in the economy and housing markets. The pandemic disrupted virtually all parts of American life, ranging from enrollment in pre-kindergarten to the populations of nursing homes.

Visualize Data Across Multiple Geographies

Social Explorer offers easy-to-use, customizable tools that allow users to visualize their data across multiple geographies. In the current release, for example, users can analyze different variables at state, congressional district, metro area, and many county levels. Users can also generate tables that can then be downloaded for further analysis.

ACS 2023 Second Release Pending for December 

The release is the first of two major ACS releases during the year; the second release, expected in December, will use rolling averages between 2019 and 2023 to provide data for U.S. geographies with fewer than 65,000 people. 

The December release, which Social Explorer will provide in its award-winning format, will include all U.S. counties, cities, towns, villages, zip codes, Census tracts, and block group, as well as the geographies included in the most recent release.
