Automobiles available

The count of automobiles available represents the number of passenger automobiles, including station wagons, owned or regularly used by the occupants of the housing unit. Passenger cars were to be counted if they were owned by a member of the household or if they were regularly used and ordinarily kept at home as are some company cars. Not to be counted were taxis, pickups or larger trucks, and dismantled or dilapidated cars in an early stage of being junked.
