Tables with age-adjusted values (T11, T12, T16, T17, T22, T23, T31, T32, T36, T37, T45, T46, T51) contain precalculated age-adjusted rates as provided by CDC. The age-adjusted rate is a weighted average of the age-specific (crude) rates, where the weights are the proportions of persons in the corresponding age groups of a standard population. The potential confounding effect of age is reduced when comparing age-adjusted rates computed using the same standard population. For tables with aged-adjusted rates present in these report total values for multiple geographies selected are not present because in data provided by CDC only precalculated age-adjusted rates were provided and we did not have access to necessary data to calculate respective age-adjusted rates.Detailed explanation can be found on the National Cancer Institute (NCI) website.
