Notes:

Total white foreign born is the sum of male and female white foreign born individuals.
In the county level, aggregation of persons from all foreign places of birth is the same as sum of published male and female white foreign born (with exception of New York's and Florida's counties). However, in the state level, aggregation of persons from all foreign places of birth over counts Census published sum of published male and female white foreign born. This discrepancy occurred because state level’s sum of published male and female white foreign born counts were derived from aggregating county level’s sum of published male and female white foreign born. In the county level, depending on the state, selected foreign places of birth were iterated and others were omitted. Even though county level’s sum of published male and female white foreign born were the same as the aggregations of persons from all foreign places of birth, they were less than the actual total foreign born counts had they iterated all places of birth.
State level did not omitted any places of birth, hence the aggregation of person from all foreign places of birth will always be higher than the sum of published male and female white foreign born (sum of published male and female white foreign born for the State were aggregates of counties’ total whites from foreign places of birth, and since counties did not iterate all places of birth, state level’s sum of published male and female white foreign born counts will be lower than aggregation of person from all foreign places of birth).
In 1920, published census volume also calculated 1 sub-universes: Canada (sum of French and British Canada born).
All of New York's and Florida’s counties iterated those who were born in Cuba but did not include these individuals in their respectively total foreign born counts. Social Explorer added the number of Cubans to the these counties' total white foreign born counts.
Social Explorer calculated total foreign born population for All states except for Hawaii, Alaska to reflect aggregated table total.
Sum of published male and female white foreign born for Alaska and its counties are 50% higher than their respective aggregated places of birth counts. Social Explorer did not alter these counts.
Hawaii and its counties did not have iterations for sex by white foreign born. Social Explorer calculated total white foreign born by aggregating places of birth for these Hawaii and its counties.
Sum of published male and female white foreign born for United States over counts aggregated table total by 73,218. User are advised that Social Explorer replaced sum of published male and female white foreign born with aggregated table total.
Caution: Counties with total white foreign born population of 20 or less did not iterated places of birth (with only a few exceptions). Majority of counties with white foreign born population numbered 21 to 100 did not iterate places of birth.
