When selecting more than one component from the same geographical level, Social Explorer provides a total for these components in the "All Selected Geographies" column. This total is for the available geographies only within the same geographical level. When a value is missing from one or more components from the same geographical level, Social Explorer denotes it with an asterisk (*) in the All Selected Geographies column.
Total value of a final output variable for multiple geographies selection should not be taken into consideration in case of the following:
-- Variable that is being used together with any other non-empty variable in calculation of the final output variable (e.g. rate calculation) has null or N/A value in the same geography selection.
The data values for European Union and European Free Trade Association regions are pre-summed based on the available data for countries that are part of these geographical regions in the selected year.
Data for France refer to 'Metropolitan France' including Corsica, excluding the overseas departments (DOM: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane, Réunion).
