Social Explorer won Best Law Website in the 20th Annual Webby Awards for our project Threat to Representation of Children and Non-Citizens, a report with interactive maps showing the potential impact of the Supreme Court case Evenwel v. Abbott on redistricting.
On Monday night, we celebrated at the star- and meme-studded Webby Awards ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in the company of such online innovators as Kim Kardashian ("Break the Internet Award"), The Onion ("Lifetime Achievement Award") and Black Lives Matter ("Social Movement Award").
In the spirit of the internet, each winner gave a five-word speech (even Kanye stuck to the wordcount). Please enjoy ours:
This award is a huge honor and a wonderful way to recognize the Social Explorer team, especially our creative, hardworking staff operating in our Sarajevo office under our co-founder's Ahmed Lacevic's direction.
We are also excited to reach new audiences and collaborators through the Webbys.
Congratulations to all of our fellow winners, and a special thank you to you, our users, for your ongoing enthusiasm, curiosity and support. Cheers to unlocking the power of data!
