Trailer Park Cities Across the United States

MONDAY, JAN 10, 2022

There’s a shortage of affordable housing in the United States, with demand far exceeding supply. Low-priced housing, such as trailer homes and manufactured housing, have failed to make a dent in the shortage due to geographic, economic and political restrictions. A Social Explorer analysis of data compiled by Easy Analytic Software Inc. finds seven counties scored a zero on its trailer park index of 0 to 200 (with the U.S. average being a 100).

Two of the counties – Kalawao and Maui, Hawaii – are too distant from the mainland to make shipping mobile homes economical. Manassas Park City and Falls Church City, Va., are part of the greater Washington, D.C., metro area. Three other counties – Williamsburg City, Va.; Franklin, Va.; and Bristol, R.I. – also were given a score of zero for trailer park friendliness.

Check out your county’s score for trailer parks with Social Explorer’s intuitive and easy-to-use mapping and reporting tools.
