Social Explorer is proud to announce that we have published the newest 2017-2021 American Community Survey (ACS) five-year estimates. Thousands of variables from this dataset are now live and ready to be discovered on Social Explorer maps and reports. The 2017-21 ACS estimates are part of an extensive effort administered by the Census Bureau, with data collected over 60 months. Unlike the one-year estimates that only report data for places with more than 65,000 people, the five-year estimates include data for all areas down to a block group level, typically containing between 600 and 3,000 people. The five-year estimates are considered highly reliable because of their large sample size, leading to smaller margins of error. The 2020 ACS Survey includes variables on topics such as income, race, employment, health insurance, immigration, ancestry, housing, veteran status, and much more.

To begin uncovering and comparing new demographic trends, simply access this new dataset on Social Explorer’s dashboard through the reports or maps tool. New data trends and discoveries are only a few clicks away.
